Newsweek, a global media organization, featured our long-time resident, Naco, in their publication! Naco was originally brought to the Animal Defense League of Texas in September 2018 when he was dumped outside the shelter's doors. Without hesitation, we took him in. Naco was a little spooked at first, running away from staff, but soon he became the sweet boy we all know and love. It's been six years since we took Naco in and the search continues to find his…

Cats with FeLV can…

Meet Bradie! Bradie is one of the current residents of our hospital and our “Undercat of the week"! Bradie came into our facility in October after being hit by a car. Bones can be hazardous to your pet! Yes, dog bones are common treats seen in pet stores. However, that doesn't mean it's safe to give your pets just ANY bone. They can possibly get stuck in their stomach's too! Bone fragments can interfere with their bowel movements, cause constipation or even…
Watch the treat bowl! Candies, baked goods, and human food can be very toxic to pets. Especially chocolate and xylitol which are common ingredients in many candies. Keep all treats in a spot where your pet can’t reach. Be careful with costumes. Not all pets enjoy wearing a costume. Make sure your pet is comfortable and watch for signs of anxiety. They should have no obstructions blocking their sight, no dangling objects they can swallow, make sure they can easily…
Today, the Animal Defense League transferred over 10 puppies from Animal Care Services. As of now, we need to find fosters for 8 of those puppies. This allows enough time for them to gain weight and become old enough to be placed into adoption. All supplies will be provided by ADL to help you foster these…

I would love being your dog, and I would love for you to come and meet me. Would you do that? I’ll even show you my pool. Josie is such a sweet…
