Frida Bell may have started out as a tiny foster kitten, but she quickly made it clear she was meant to stay forever.
When Grace’s family first welcomed Frida Bell home, she was barely old enough to be adopted and was recovering from an upper respiratory infection. She went on to have a few more infections before being diagnosed with feline asthma. Since starting her inhaler regimen, Frida Bell has been healthy, happy, and fully ready to rule the house.
“She’s perfectly healthy and happy to roughhouse her brother,” Grace shared. Her brother—another ADL foster fail—may be much bigger than Frida Bell, but she wins every time.
Frida Bell’s favorite activities include “snurgling,” her very own version of making biscuits. She buries her whole face into a blanket or another soft surface while kneading and sucking on it, happily lost in the moment. She also loves cuddling up with Grace’s dog and grooming them like one of her own.
She may act like a big, tough cat, but Frida Bell has the sweetest little voice. Instead of a traditional meow, she chirps and “mips” like a bird—an endlessly adorable contrast to her confident personality.
One of Grace’s favorite memories goes all the way back to the day Frida Bell came home as a foster kitten. While driving down the freeway, Grace and her mom were suddenly hit with an unforgettable smell. They rolled down the windows and prepared themselves to find a messy crate when they arrived home. Instead, Frida Bell simply strutted out—leaving behind what Grace calls “the worst fart known to man.”
“She waltzed out leaving behind the worst fart known to man,” Grace said, “and won over my old cocker spaniel in a heartbeat.”
Frida Bell was also the first foster kitten in a journey that would lead Grace’s family to foster nearly 1,000 pets. She helped spark a lasting love for fostering, and when she chose Grace as her person, she made herself impossible to resist.
“When she chose me as her person, she didn’t give me any other choice but to smile every morning,” Grace shared. “There’s a world with Frida Bell in it, so there’s a good world.”
We’re so grateful Frida Bell found her forever family—and that her foster story helped open the door for so many more pets to find love, too. 🐾
