When Rose first arrived at ADL she was so emaciated that she could barely walk. Thanks to the help and support of our veterinarian team, Rose gained her weight and energy back. Noodle is just a small little puppy and has been diagnosed with carpal laxity syndrome, a deformity of the legs that primarily affects puppies. Puppies have fast growing bodies and go through growth spurts. When they have improper nutrients or are crated in a small area with little room to move their growing legs, they can develop this condition. Can you believe this was Goose when he first came to our shelter? We took Goose into our care in September of 2017 when he was 6 months old. Poor Goose had severe hair-loss and was in obvious discomfort. He tested positive for demodex and sarcoptic mange. When Buttermilk arrived at ADL, she was emaciated, heartworm positive, and had a severely broken leg. There was a large mass on her chest and another on her hind leg. She also had pyometra, a potentially fatal infection of the uterus that occurs in unspayed females. Meet Gulliver Beanie! He is a 3-year-old sweet, friendly beagle mix. He is an incredibly kind and loving dog who enjoys to wonder and play with his toys. Sebastian is a 5 month old pup transferred from Animal Care Services to our shelter. We wanted to share his amazing before and after photos! When this little guy arrived he was severely infested with ticks and fleas. This could have easily been prevented with monthly tick/flea preventatives. This sweet girl is Phyllis, and she came to ADL weighing .07 pounds with a HUGE swollen front paw that looked like something had been wrapped around it. The paw was cold and devitalized.
