This September, The Shops at La Cantera will celebrate its 20^th anniversary with four community celebrations honoring the City of San Antonio, Texas Hill Country and Mexico via Hispanic Heritage Month.

Since its opening in September 2005, The Shops at La Cantera has evolved into not only a shopping mecca, but a community center hosting frequent pop-up events reflective of the diverse local, regional and international cultures it serves. And it was recently named the best shopping center in the country by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

The Shops at La Cantera is known for its robust tenant mix. Community Celebration – Yoga and Animal Defense League Pet Adoption, Friday, September 19

Nomadik Yoga known for transforming spaces into places with community centered yoga invites the community to attend a free yoga experience from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, September 19 at Center Court.  Live DJ will provide a serene soundscape to enhance wellbeing and spirit, reduce stress and promote health.

Animals also play a crucial role in promoting better health in humans as they are credited with helping to reduce anxiety, depression, and increase physical activity which can result in lower blood pressure and better heart health.

The Animal Defense League will hold a pet adoption just off Center Court from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, September 19 to complement the Yoga experience.  The event will include a selection of adoptable pets including puppies and adult dogs, to help them find their forever homes.

The Shops at La Cantera has been pet-friendly since 2018.  Pets are welcome in mall common areas, except the children’s play area and water fountains. Be sure your pet is on a leash and that you have up-to-date vaccination tags on the collar.  If you have a small dog, using a carrier also is a smart way to go. Dogs at The Shops must always be under the control of their owner.  Be prepared to clean up after your canine friend.  If you forget to bring waste disposal bags, The Shops at La Cantera will provide six waste bag dispenser sites throughout the property.
