Hi there, my name is Layal. I am almost 8 years young and ready for the best years of my life. I had a rough past that included abuse by both humans and other dogs. All this made me a bit nervous and apprehensive of new people and loud environments. Being in the shelter was hard on me too, so I was lucky that I am now spending some time in a foster home. My foster parents have only good things to say about me. I love to cuddle, rarely bark, walk well on the leash, and have respectful house manners including being house broken. There are no cats in the home, but a 13-year-old female bulldog. We get along ok and I know she is the alpha, so I respect that. Sometimes I come out of my shell a bit and like to run and play in the backyard; even chase a squirrel here and there. But mostly I am just a perfect dog, right by my foster mom's side. I love my foster daddy too; he is so sweet to me but also know it will take me bit more time to warm up to any male humans just because of my past. I get along with other easy-going dogs. Just because loud noises and play activities might scare me (at least for a while), a home without young children would probably be best for me. My foster parents will be happy to have you meet me at either ADL location; they also offered to pay my adoption fee.
