Quiénes somos

Chartered in 1934, the Animal Defense League is a non-profit organization that is a true no-kill shelter for abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs and cats.

Though the Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL) was incorporated on June 19, 1934, the initiative to save animals in need had already been in action by a group called Child Protective and Humane Society.

The Animal Defense League is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Our staff of full and part-time workers numbers more than 70. We are accepting applications for the positions listed below.

Q: I am interested in adopting an animal from your shelter. How do I do this? What is required? A: We invite you to come to the Animal Defense League to meet and spend at least 30 minutes with the animal you are considering to see if this is the one who best fits your home, family, and lifestyle.
