Stimpy – Underdog of the Week
Categories: Animal Defense League Blogs, Pet Spotlight
It is tough for us to see a pet that has only been on this earth for a short time be in this bad of shape. Meet Stimpy, a five-month-old Chihuahua puppy that’s recovering here at the Animal Defense League of Texas. Stimpy was found wandering through a residential neighborhood by tourists who asked locals about the starving puppy, and the locals stated, “Yeah, he’s been running around hungry for a couple of weeks.” The visiting family knew that it wasn’t right, so they scooped up Stimpy, and brought him to the Animal Defense League of Texas in hopes we would be able to offer some assistance. We immediately assumed care of Stimpy and admitted him into the ADL medical program where we found out Stimpy had some problems. He was severely emaciated but also had a bad case of demodex mange.
Despite the apparent neglect, we are happy to report that he is a very sweet, trusting, and loving puppy who was just waiting for someone to care enough to stop and help him. He has a huge appetite, and he’s gaining back his puppy weight and is under medical treatment for the demodex mange. We’d like to say “Thank you!” to the tourists who saw the need to change Stimpy’s life and brought him to the Animal Defense League of Texas.
