Underdog of the Week – Mr. Big
Categories: Animal Defense League Blogs, Featured Story, Pet Spotlight
There are many pet injuries that we see at our hospital that make us unhappy, but Mr. Big’s gunshot wound makes us happy that he’s now with the Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL). We transferred in the American Staffordshire Terrier from the City of San Antonio’s Animal Care Services to our shelter on Friday, April 7, 2017, with what looked to be two gunshot wounds. Our medical team jumped into action with x-rays and examinations, to see if there were any broken bones or if the bullet(s) were still inside of the big guy. We are happy to report that the bullet hit not one bone or vital organ, and it seems to be a clean entrance and exit. Amazing, right? The best news is that Mr. Big loves to give BIG sloppy kisses and wiggles all over. He’s healing well and is expected to make a full recovery from his injury. Mr. Big will be available for adoption in the coming weeks, so we’ll keep you updated on his progress right here on this blog.
