Consejos de seguridad para mascotas en Halloween
Categorías: Consejos para mascotas

Watch the treat bowl!
Candies, baked goods, and human food can be very toxic to pets. Especially chocolate and xylitol which are common ingredients in many candies. Keep all treats in a spot where your pet can’t reach.
Be careful with costumes.
Not all pets enjoy wearing a costume. Make sure your pet is comfortable and watch for signs of anxiety. They should have no obstructions blocking their sight, no dangling objects they can swallow, make sure they can easily move around and not overheat.
Use pet-safe decorations.
Some decorations can be choking hazards and dangerous to your pet. Keep wires, garland, and anything your pet may chew on out of their reach. You don’t want Fluffy swallowing garland, chewing on a string of lights, or knocking over a lit candle!
Keep pets indoors.
Trick-or-treaters and vehicles will be out and about on Halloween night. It’s best to keep your pets inside where they can stay away from vehicles, crowds, or anything that may startle them.
Keep pets calm.
Trick-or-treaters coming up to your door can be stressful for some pets. If your pet is easily stressed, then move them to a quiet room away from the door. Have their favorite toys and treats near them to keep them occupied. Watch out for pets that may try to dart out your front door.
Always keep an eye on your pet.
Always keep pets on a leash when you’re in public and in your view. Bring pets inside to keep them extra safe. This will keep them away from traffic and people who may scare them.
Keep current ID on your pets!
Make sure your pet is wearing ID tags with the accurate information. Invest in microchipping your pets! If your pet is already microchipped, make sure it’s activated and the information is up-to-date.
