Dog Day at the San Antonio Zoo

Dog Day at the zoo is an exclusive opportunity for dog lovers to experience the wonders of the animal kingdom alongside their dogs. From the captivating sights and sounds to the intriguing new scents, your pup will be in for a treat as they explore a whole new world of adventure! On Dog Day at San Antonio Zoo, dogs and their owners will have a blast and play a vital role in providing enrichment for the animal residents. The presence of our furry friends adds a touch of excitement and curiosity to the atmosphere, stimulating the senses of the zoo residents in unique ways.

In addition to exploring the zoo, there will be special activities like a dog costume parade and dog trick-or-treating.

“Dogs are a beloved part of many families, and we are thrilled to open our doors to them for this very special occasion,” said Tim Morrow, President & CEO of San Antonio Zoo. “This first-time ever Dog Day is an opportunity for pet owners to provide unique enrichment for their dogs and share the wonders of San Antonio Zoo.”

To ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees, there are a few guidelines to follow. Dogs must have up-to-date rabies vaccinations and be kept on a no longer than 6-foot, non-retractable leash. A designated adult must accompany each dog and one dog ticket ($27.99) must be purchased per adult ticket or Membership. Dog Day will be limited to the first 500 dogs. While most zoo areas are accessible to guests with dogs, Discovery PLAYce, Riverbank, Education Center, aviaries, indoor restaurants, attractions and animal encounters are excluded.
