The Animal Defense League advocates the use of positive reinforcement pet-training methods for puppies and dogs. We are committed to showing dog owners how loving, not harsh training methods resulting in a happier and safer pet. Classes include handouts and “homework” for potty training, sit, down, stay, come, leave it and much more.

WELCOME HOME CLASS
This Welcome Home Class is for anyone who is thinking about adopting a dog or has recently adopted a dog, no matter what age! The goal is to assist in making a smooth transition from shelter dog to a family member for both you and your new pet. In this 90 minute class, we cover common transition issues that may pop up such as housebreaking, chewing, digging and more! Learn how to “welcome home” your new pet by starting off on the right paw with this FREE class!
For safety reasons, this class is an informational session for humans only. There will be a Q&A once the class is over.

For dogs 4 months & older (fully vaccinated)
Are you ready to teach your dog basic obedience and strengthen the bond between you and your pet? This is the class for you! Basic Obedience is a 6-week course that covers sit, down, stay, loose leash walking, come when called and introductions to heel. This class includes additional handouts to further help you understand your dog. All classes are taught using reward-based, force-free methods.
Requirements: All dogs must be up-to-date on routine vaccines (DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella).

Class duration: 6-week course (includes the first class orientation for people only).
Cost: $75 ($50 for dogs adopted from the Animal Defense League).
No Dog? No Problem! If you’d like to learn the basics AND help an ADL dog get adopted, you can register for the class and use one of our dogs during the training session! It’s only $35.
