{"id":23923,"date":"2013-12-31T13:50:40","date_gmt":"2013-12-31T19:50:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.adltexas.wpengine.com\/?p=209"},"modified":"2014-08-26T02:26:01","modified_gmt":"2014-08-26T02:26:01","slug":"happy-new-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adltexas.org\/es\/news\/happy-new-year\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a1Feliz A\u00f1o Nuevo!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.adltexas.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nye.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-210\" alt=\"nye\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.adltexas.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/nye-150x150.jpg?resize=150%2C150\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Believe it or not, it&#8217;s almost time to ring out 2013 and ring in 2014.\u00a0 In just a\u00a0few short hours\u00a0it&#8217;ll be a new year!\u00a0 You can bet there will be plenty of parties and lots of noisemakers when the clock strikes midnight.\u00a0 So let&#8217;s not take the term&#8221;party animals&#8221; literally.\u00a0 You need to be especially protective of your dog and cat tonight.\u00a0 New Year&#8217;s Eve is a time of year when lots of pets get scared of all the noise and fireworks and bolt.\u00a0 Here are few tips to make sure your best friend stays home tonight:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with identification tags.\u00a0 The pet&#8217;s name and a current phone number are ideal.\u00a0 If your pet is microchipped, please take a few minutes to make sure your information with the microchip company is current.\u00a0 We see dogs and cats come in all of the time with microchips, but with old information making it next to impossible to find their owners.<\/li>\n<li>Keep your pet indoors in a quiet area.\u00a0 You want them to feel safe and sound.\u00a0 Make sure your buddy has plenty of fresh water and give dogs\u00a0a few\u00a0chew toys (mine LOVE their peanut butter-filled Kong toys, especially if I freeze them).\u00a0 Dogs who are crate trained may feel safest in their kennels.\u00a0 Cats will do best in a bathroom or utility room with food, water and their litter box.<\/li>\n<li>If left outdoors, frightened\u00a0dogs\u00a0often jump high fences and dig holes to escape the sound of fireworks. Indoor animals should be kept away from glass windows or doors.\u00a0 Some are capable of crashing right through glass if they get scared.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re hosting a party, keep your pet in a separate room.\u00a0 Even friendly dogs and cats can get overwhelmed.<\/li>\n<li>As always, make sure to keep all alcohol, festive foods\/chocolates, floral arrangements and party decorations away from your pets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A New Year is definitely something to be celebrated, but your pet doesn&#8217;t need to be a part of the part.\u00a0 Be safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aunque parezca incre\u00edble, ya casi es hora de despedir el 2013 y dar la bienvenida al 2014. \u00a1En solo unas horas ser\u00e1 un nuevo a\u00f1o!
