Service Groups: One-time volunteers

pic6Are you interested in scheduling a group to visit ADL and volunteer for a few hours?  We do offer animal interaction and service projects for members of the public.  We do not require attendance of volunteer orientation for these service projects (although a short orientation will be held the day of the project). Groups can be scheduled Tuesday through Saturday only … no Sundays or Mondays are available.

Groups can be formed of anywhere from 5 to 20 people max. You must be at least 16 years of age to be a group volunteer without adult supervisors. Children ages 10-15 can volunteer with adult members, but must stay with their adult guardians at all times. School groups MUST provide at least one parent/teacher/guardian for every 10 students (if there are 20 students, there must be at least 2 adult supervisors with the group).

Groups will be given a service project to work on (landscape, maintenance, construction, clearing, arts & crafts) that is age-appropriate. They will also be allowed to walk/bath dogs or be in the cattery after the project is finished.

We schedule small groups from 30 minutes to 3 hours maximum. The project day will not begin until all members of the group arrive at the ADL for the quick orientation. The ADL can provide a record of the hours served if needed.
